"My name is Lauren Carrubba and I'm a catastrophe modeler for Gallagher. Before Archipelago, everything was very disorganized. There was a lot of miscommunications, a lot of SOV copies floating around. It lacked a synergy, and we find that since we have Archipelago, it's kind of working as a center point for a lot of our accounts. We put a lot of documents in there. We love the SOV standardization. We love the marketing aspect of it, and we're really excited to see it grow.
I've seen my fair share of really, really bad SOVs. Horrible formatting, headers that don't make sense, all of that. If you name it, I've seen it and I would spend weeks at a time just cleaning up SOVs, reorganizing them, trying to find some fluidity and make it better and more appealing for the market, also. A lot of people think that doesn't matter, but if I don't want to look at it from an insider's perspective, just as a CAT modeler, why do you think an underwriter is going to want to use that now?
My whole process, as soon as I get a request, it goes straight to Archipelago. We're going to standardize that SOV. We're going to clean it up, and I'm going to use that point forward for modeling.
Our capacity–we're able to do so much more now. It's saving so much time. Y'all's turnaround time is phenomenal, and it's really cutting out a lot of the extra work that we have to do. It's making our lives so much easier. We're able to flip stuff so, so much quicker now.
I have a producer from Gallagher who is trying to work on gathering a bunch of hospitals together in our state, and every hospital SOV looks different, and they're all kind of bad in terms of attraction. So one of my coworkers who was working on that for the producer had been manually adding every SOV together, and it was like 14 of them, and I called her. I was like, "What are you spending all your time doing, girl?" She's like, "Well, I'm trying to put all these SOVs together for Frank," and I said, "I need you to stop. I have something for you. It's going to change your life. Just put it into Archipelago." And I told her, I said, "Don't ever do that again. You call me first." And we used it. It's been great.
After I uploaded our collection of really bad SOVs, it took, I don't know, two days just because there were some specifics that I wanted to make sure that we got addressed. And everything is formatted, just how we wanted, just how the producer wants, and more importantly, how the clients want to see their work.
Number one favorite thing about Archipelago is the SOV standardization–only because that's something I interact with a lot, but we also love the data that you can pull in from your relationship with CoreLogic. We know that it's accredited and it's valid information, and I think that's very, very vital and something that people are really hungry for. I haven't used it for marketing a whole lot yet because I don't really see that side of things, but I'm really excited to dive into that.
My team has modeled around 200 accounts already this year, and I'd be willing to bet that maybe 75% of those are in Archipelago only because I started adding them late. It makes it so much easier for us. It takes just a load off. We love the AIR and RMS formatted outputs. That's so easy and helpful, and we love how much quicker we can get our workout to producers and clients.
I think that the quickest way to sell a producer or a broker on Archipelago is to talk about it being a living, breathing SOV. That line really gets people good. Also, I hype up the data augmentation and just most importantly, the organization, and we love that you can track who's actually been into the account, who's looking at things, what are they accessing and when, or how frequently.
I'm part of the Cadence acquisition that happened about a year and a half ago, and I'm really trying to get them super excited about Archipelago because no one's heard of it from Legacy Cadence. So we have all these now Gallagher folks, and I'm telling them, you all have to get plugged into Archipelago, and they're all so excited to be here. I think we're going to do a training session soon for the people that don't really know about it."
